The Upscale tab takes one input, the Source: an image or a video. The type you load decides which models are offered. Clarity AI and Topaz work on both, and Flux Video Upscale works on video only.
Upscale opens on Clarity AI’s Crystal Upscaler.
Upscale a file
Load the source
Drop an image or a video in Source. From the Gallery, right-click an asset and send it to Upscale, or use Send to in the lightbox.
Choose a model
Click the model card to open the picker. It only lists the models that accept the type of file you loaded. The model’s own options appear under the card.
Set the scale
Pick the factor with the Scale pill in the prompt bar. Each model offers its own factors, and a factor is greyed out when the result would pass the model’s output limit for your source.
Upscale
Click Upscale. The button shows the credit cost first. The result keeps the framing of the source.
The prompt is optional. Some models read it as guidance, such as Clarity Upscaler and Flux Video Upscale. Snippets are not available in Upscale.
Clarity AI
Crystal Upscaler is the default for images, and Crystal Video Upscaler handles video. Clarity Pro Upscaler scales by 2x, 4x or 8x. Of the three image models, Clarity Upscaler is the one that reads the prompt.
Topaz
For an image, choose Autopilot to let Topaz pick a model for each image, or pick a category: Gigapixel, Wonder, Bloom, Denoise or Sharpen. The exact model inside the category is set in the Model select under the card. The prompt-guided models, such as Wonder 3 and the Bloom models, add Auto Prompt under Advanced Controls.
For a video, the picker has two groups of categories:
- Upscaling & Detail Enhancement: resolution, denoise and artifact recovery, with categories such as Proteus and Starlight.
- Frame Interpolation: Aion, Apollo and Chronos. They add an Output Frame Rate setting and Slow Motion at 2x, 4x or 8x.
A Topaz video upscale starts with an estimate. The button first reads Estimate: Hylope asks Topaz for a credit range and shows it, then the button changes to Generate. If you change a setting, it estimates again.
Flux Video Upscale
Flux Video Upscale scales a video by 1.5x, 2x or 3x.
- Creative off gives a precise enlargement that preserves identity. Turned on, it rebuilds richer detail using the prompt.
- The source can be up to 20 seconds long and up to 2560 x 1440. The output is capped at about 13.75 megapixels: on a larger source, the factor is lowered to stay under the cap.
