Vector

Create SVG artwork from a prompt or reference images, trace an image into vector shapes, or change an existing vector with words.

The Vector tab makes static SVG artwork: logos, icons and illustrations that stay sharp when resized. Pick Text to Vector, References, Vectorize or Edit at the top of the settings panel. Each has its own model choices.

Text to VectorDescribe a logo, an icon or an illustration.
ReferencesCreate a new vector from reference images you mention in your prompt.
VectorizeTrace an image into shapes and colors.
EditChange a vector with your words.

To change colours or crop a vector by hand, open Quick Edit on the result.

Text to Vector

  1. Choose a model

Click the model card in the settings panel. Text to Vector offers Recraft, Quiver and Ideogram models; the tables below list the current choices.

  2. Describe the artwork

Write what to make in the prompt bar. Describe the subject, composition, lettering and style. Type @ to insert snippets for the parts you reuse.

  3. Set the colours and ratio

Optionally load a colour snippet or an image into Color Palette. Turn on Background Color to choose the background. Set the ratio in the prompt bar. A vector has no pixel-size setting.

  4. Generate

Click Generate, or press Enter. The button shows the credit cost before you submit. Your vector appears in Create and in the Gallery.

References

References makes a new vector from images you load as Reference 1, Reference 2 and so on, up to four. Name them in the prompt with @ref1, @ref2, and say what each contributes. For example, ask for the subject of one reference in the style of another.

A sketch can serve as a reference to guide the composition. Color Palette and Background Color work as in Text to Vector. The palette guides the model rather than guaranteeing that every shape uses an exact swatch; refine the colours in Quick Edit afterwards.

Vectorize

Load one image and click Generate. Vectorize traces it into vector shapes, without a prompt. Logos, drawings and illustrations with clear edges are useful starting points.

The settings depend on the model:

Setting Where it appears What it does
Effort Quiver Low, Medium or High: more effort can take longer and cost more.
Auto-crop Quiver Crops to the main subject before tracing.
Detail Quiver, under Advanced Controls Sets the input detail used for tracing: the original size or a selected size.
Detail Ideogram Auto, Simple or Detailed: chooses how much detail the trace keeps.

The input card tells you if an image cannot be used by the selected model. Switch models or change the image to continue.

Edit

Load the SVG to change into the Vector card. Write the change in the prompt bar and generate. Edit runs on Quiver’s Arrow models and returns another SVG.

You can add up to four reference images and name them with @ref1, @ref2 and so on to guide the edit. The vector itself is the source being changed; it does not need a reference token.

Effort sets how much thought the model gives the edit. Review passes, under Advanced Controls, lets it review its work up to three times. Both can change the price; the size of the input SVG affects the edit’s cost too. Check Generate before submitting.

For a colour change, palette adjustment or crop, use Quick Edit instead of generating a new edit.

Colours

Color Palette accepts either a colour snippet or an image whose colours Hylope reads. It is available in Text to Vector and References. Background Color is optional: when off, the model chooses its own background.

Quick Edit can change a colour across the finished drawing, apply or shuffle a palette, and reduce the number of colours without an AI generation.

Save and download

Every generated vector keeps its SVG and a PNG preview. The Gallery displays the vector, and inputs that need an image use its PNG preview.

  • Download SVG to keep the vector for another vector editor or a scalable layout.
  • In Quick Edit, SVG downloads the current vector, including unsaved changes. PNG downloads an image at 2048 pixels on its longer side.
  • Save as v2 saves a Quick Edit change as a new version. Save as separate copy keeps it as a separate asset linked to the source.

Quick Edit’s vector tools are described in the vector editing guide.
